Crestwood, NY-Join us at St Vladimir's Seminary for a special lecture by Jim Forest: "'In Peace Let Us Pray to the Lord': Peacemaking, Conflict Resolution, and Reconciliation as a Pastoral Concern."The lecture will take place on Saturday, November 20, 2004, at 2 PM in the Metropolitan Philip Auditorium; it will be followed by a time for discussion and light refreshments.
Jim Forest is secretary of the Orthodox Peace Fellowship and edits its publication, In Communion. He is author of numerous books, including The Ladder of the Beatitudes, Confession: Doorway to Forgiveness, and Making Friends of Enemies. With Hildo Bos, he co-edited For the Peace from Above: an Orthodox Resource Book on War, Peace, and Nationalism. His books have been translated into Dutch, Italian, Spanish, Swedish, Danish, Polish, Korean, and Russian. In 1989, he received the Peacemaker Award from Notre Dame University's Institute for International Peace Studies. He lives in Holland, near Amsterdam, with his wife Nancy.
