Attention High School Juniors!
Crestwood, NY — St Vladimir's Seminary will hold its sixth annual Youth Institute for high school juniors this summer from June 19-25, 2004. This event, always held concurrently with the Liturgical Institute, will address the theme: "Does Christian Marriage Have a Future?"
The seminary selects a limited number of applicants to receive full scholarships for tuition, room, and board during the institute. (Travel to and from the institute is not covered by the scholarships.) In providing this program, the seminary hopes to give high school juniors a distinctive opportunity to enrich their faith. Participants take part in small group discussions, lectures, liturgical worship, and community service in the New York City area. They also have the opportunity to use the library, and meet seminary faculty and church leaders. The seminary will take into account each applicant's participation in church and school activities, academic transcripts, and recommendations from their parish priest when selecting the recipients.
Interested students who are currently in their junior year can access the application and consent forms online, or contact Fr Steven Belonick (phone: (914) 961-8313, ext. 328; email: belonick@svots.edu). A printable flyer (PDF format) is available as well, for posting. The deadline for submissions is May 12, 2004. Hard copies of forms and transcripts should be mailed to: St Vladimir's Seminary, Attn: Youth Institute, 575 Scarsdale Road, Crestwood, New York 10707.
