Authority Search

This search -- based upon a search of Library of Congress Authorities -- enables you to find material based on Author or Subject (similar to a Catalog Card search). Best choices are single word (e.g., Meyendorff) or partial word (e.g., Bibl).

The search is case-insensitive. Any phrase must be exact (e.g., "old testament" will find this sequence of letters including the one space, but not "O.T." where a lot of books will also be found -- nor will it find the word "testament" on its own. The search text can be anywhere in the listed LC Authority. No boolean capability is available.

Generally searches are best done with generic words -- with fewest qualifications.
