St Vladimir's Orthodox Theological Seminary - Events The North American Orthodox-Catholic Theological Consultation Meets at SVS June 6-8, 2005

The sixty-eighth meeting of the North American Orthodox-CatholicTheological Consultation took place at the seminary on June 6-8, 2005. Having recently completed a major statement on the filioque, the consultation is now turning its attention to the issue of papal primacy, certainly the most significant issue separating Orthodox and Roman Catholics. Presently in its fortieth year, the North-American dialogue is the longest-lasting and most successful dialogue between Orthodox and Catholics. St Vladimir's Seminary faculty members have been active participants in the dialogue from its inception—currently, Prof Paul Meyendorff carries on this tradition.
