1998 Lenten Retreat

"The Love of God"
Fr. Thomas Hopko, Retreat Leader
Dean and Professor of Dogmatic Theology at St. Vladimir's Seminary

Location
St. Vladimir's Seminary Kunett Auditorium
575 Scarsdale Road, Crestwood, NY 10707

God who is love has sent his beloved Son into this world to be crucified and glorified so that He might pour out His love upon us in His Holy Spirit. The Church of Christ, through the presence and power of God in Christ and the Holy Spirit, is the foretaste of God's Kingdom of Love which is to come.

We Christians are called to prove our love for God by accepting His love for us and keeping His commandments. We are to love one another, especially our enemies, with the very same love with which God in Christ has loved us.

At our lenten retreat this year Fr. Thomas Hopko, Dean of St. Vladimir's Seminary, will reflect on the many meanings of God as Love, the love of God for us, and our love for God and each other, as the content of human life revealed and perfected in the Crucified Christ.
