Preparatory Readings

  • Participants in this year's institute are invited to read chapter 3, "Culture and Gospel," in Archbishop Anastasios (Yannoulatos), Facing the World: Orthodox Christian Essays on Global Concerns (SVS Press 2003).

  • Participants in the pastoral track are invited also to read the following:
    • Health and Medicine in the Eastern Orthodox Tradition by Fr Stanley Harakas, Part II: Well Being and Illness, pp. 25 to 55 (in preparation for Prof. Rossi's talk).
    • The book of Amos (in the Bible) as well as parts (or all) of Fr. Paul Tarazi's Old Testament Introduction; vol II: Prophetic Traditions (in preparation for Fr Tarazi's talk).

  • For those who are unable to obtain these books at this late date, they will be on reserve at the seminary library all week, for consulting during break periods.
